Aug 10th is our big craft night. Be thinking of who you can bring. There are four different crafts; you may sign up for two crafts. As you are thinking of who you can bring, make sure you find out the crafts that your guest would want to make and sign them up as well. Sign-ups are in the weekly binders that are passed around in relief society, young women and primary. If you are signing up for dish etching, in the left column put your name and in the left column print clearly the name you want on the dish!

Missionary Task for July

Missionary Task
This month, Put 3 pass along cards and a pen in your purse, backpack etc. and make sure they are ready to give out when you are prompted to do so. If you don't have any, make sure you get some from the clerk’s office on Sunday. SIMPLE, SIMPLE SIMPLE! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Upcoming Activities

July 3rd, 10th and 17th we will be meeting with 2nd ward due to the restrooms being worked on in our building. Church begins at 9am, with Sacrament Meeting first. There is a possibility that we will be back in the McKee Chapel for the 17th Meeting. Details will follow.


July 13th Relief Society Activity – 7:00-8:00 pm at Ellen Rowan’s Home for “Chill and Chat” Bring Friends. (Craft Night postponed to Aug. 10 due to building closure)

Cub Scout Day Camp-July 26-July 28 from 4-8 pm at the Stake Center

June 17, 2011 Announcements

Good Morning Sisters! Hope you are all enjoying your summer so far!
Below are a few reminders:

June 19th (Father's Day) Michele Garcia will be giving our lesson, #35
out of Gospel Principles

June 25th - There is a musical fireside, which is part of the 44-hour
mission. This would be a time to remember, "Who can I bring?"

Remember, July 3rd and 10th we will be meeting with 2nd ward due to
the restrooms being worked on in our building. Church begins at 9am,
with Sacrament Meeting first.

Change of Date: Our week day Relief Society Activity on July 13
(craft night), has been moved to August 10th due to our McKee building
being closed. However, we will still be having a week day R.S.
activity that night. It will be from 7pm-8pm at Sis. Ellen Rowans
house. It will be a night of "chill and chat".. We invite you to come
swim, and have a great time visiting with each other. There will be a
children's class that night, but, it will be at Sis. Smith's house,
which is just a street over! Remember "who can I bring?". We invite
all to bring a friend with them, non-member, less active!

This week... Our April Relief Society Meeting is on Wednesday, April 13, 7pm at the church. We will be getting together to do a "Conference Chat." Print out your favorite talk or two from our recent conference, and come discuss and share in a relaxed setting. You are guaranteed to leave feeling uplifted and inspired! Refreshments will be provided, as well as childcare for those that need it. Coming up... Saturday, April 30 is Mormon Helping Hands Day. We will meet to do service at Henderson Park in Snelling.

In order to better focus our missionary efforts, all families arebeing encouraged to write a FAMILY MISSION PLAN. Each plan should bedesigned to fit the abilities and goals of each individual family, butbelow are two examples of what a plan may look like.

EXAMPLE ONE:

Family Mission Plan
February 19
1. Pray for missionary opportunities in every personal and familyprayer
2. Make a missionary contact 5 times a week
3. Visit our neighbors by March 21

4. Place our testimony and family photo in a Book of Mormon
5. Have Pass-A-Long cards with us at all times
6. Have the missionaries in our home monthly
7. Have a nonmember in our home at least once a month
8. Have a family ready for the missionaries by April 1

UPCOMING EVENTS

This week...

Sunday, March 27 is Fast Sunday in preparation for General Conference.

The 3rd hour lesson will be "Charity Never Faileth," by Pres. Monsonfrom 2010 General RS Meeting.

Coming up...

April 2-3 is General Conference.

Wednesday, April 13 at 7pm we will be having a really fun Relief Society Activity--Conference Jeopardy! We had such a fun time withthis game last year, we are revamping it to highlight Conference. There will be six categories:

1. April 2011 Conference (don't forget to watch/listen!)
2. President Thomas S. Monson
3. General Authorities
4. “Obedience to the Prophets” (Elder Claudio R.M. Costa, October2010)
5. “Receive the Holy Ghost” (Elder David A. Bednar, October 2010)
6. “Daughters in My Kingdom” (Sister Julie B. Beck, October 2010)

The first three categories will have very general or common knowledge questions. The last three categories focus on those specific talks that you can read from last Conference. So study up and come readyfor fun! We will have "game night snacks" and a great time.

Thursday, March 17
Attention all women of the Merced Stake! At 6:30 p.m. at the Stake Center there will be a Relief Society Birthday celebration. A lovely dinner will be provided, guest speakers, and some wonderful surprises. Please come and join with the sisters of the Stake to celebrate the birthday of a program created just for us.

Friday, March 18
1st Ward Chili Cook Off, 6pm

Sunday, March 27 will be Fast Sunday in preparation for General Conference the following week (April 2-3).
